Commercial building fire in Heysham
At 07:04 on 01 September, eight fire engines from Lancaster, Morecambe, Bolton-le-Sands, Carnforth, Hornby, and Silverdale, together with an aerial ladder platform and a water tower appliance, attended a commercial building fire on Moneyclose Lane, Heysham. Firefighters used two main jets and four breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. No casualties were reported.
Update 08:13 - crews are likely to remain in attendance for some time. If you are affected by smoke, please keep all windows and doors closed. Avoid the area.
Update 10:51 - this incident has been reduced to six pumps.
