Commercial building fire in Ormskirk

At 06:16 on 30 June 2026, ten fire engines, the command unit, a water tower, and the drone attended a commercial building fire on Rainford Road, Bickerstaffe, Ormskirk. Crews are using six breathing apparatus, the water tower, two hose reel jets and one main line jet to tackle the fire. Firefighters remain in attendance.

At 06:16 on 30 June 2026, ten fire engines from Ormskirk, Skelmersdale, Blackburn, Hindley, Wigan, Blackburn, Chorley, Penwortham, Fulwood, Bamber Bridge, the command unit and stinger from Blackburn, the water bowser from Leyland, the aerial ladder platform from Preston, the welfare unit from Bispham, the hose layer from South Shore, and a drone, attended a fire on Rainford Road, Bickerstaffe, Ormskirk. The fire involved a commercial building, approximately forty meters by fifteen meters. Firefighters used six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one main line jet, and one stinger. Crews remain in attendance.

The incident has been scaled down to six fire engines. Firefighters continue to tackle the fire. We remind members of the public to keep their windows and doors shut if you can see or smell smoke. Please do not fly drones in the area as they may obstruct emergency operations.
