At 01:51 on 31 May 2024, five fire engines from Blackburn, Bamber Bridge, Darwen and Preston, alongside the aerial ladder platform from Preston, and the drone team, attended a commercial building fire on Finnington Lane, Withnell. Crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one positive pressure ventilation fan. Firefighters remain on scene.
