At 21:23 hours on 4th March 2026, three fire engines from Preston and Blackburn fire stations attended a commercial premises on Myerscough Smithy Road, Balderstone. The fire involving a motor within the premises was out on the arrival of the fire service however, firefighters made the scene safe using one hose reel and two positive pressure ventilation fans. Fire crews were on scene for approximately fifty minutes.
