Derelict building fire in Blackburn

At 11:12 on 1 May 2025, two fire engines from Blackburn and Darwen attended a fire involving a large quantity of rubbish in a derelict commercial building measuring approximately 10 metres x 15 metres on Albion Street, Blackburn. Firefighters extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus, one thermal imaging camera, breaking in tools and a ceiling hook. Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour.
