At 16:11 hours on Monday 18th August 2025, three fire engines from Morecambe, Hornby and Garstang, the water tower from Lancaster, and the aerial ladder platform from Preston attended New Quay Road. The fire involved a derelict property. Crews used one 45-millimetre jet, one ground monitor, one drone and the water tower to extinguish the fire. Crews were detained for three hours.
