At 03:53 on 5 January 2026, two fire engines from Preston and Penwortham as well as the water incident unit from Preston attended an incident on London Road, Preston. Crews utilised a sled to rescue one dog from water which was handed into the care of its owner. Crews were engaged on scene for approximately one hour and thirty minutes.
