At 11:17am on 17 May 2026, two fire engines from Bamber Bridge and Penwortham attended a domestic building fire on Woodplumpton Road, Ashton, Preston. Crews wore breathing apparatus and used a triple extension ladder, one hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera, a gas monitor and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for three hours.
