At 01:19 on the 4th April 2026, three fire engines from Blackburn and Hyndburn fire stations attended a domestic building fire on Surrey Road, Blackburn. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels, a gas monitor and a thermal imaging camera. Crews remained at the scene for approximately one hour and twenty minutes.
