At 13:10 on 17 March 2026, four fire engines from Clitheroe, Hyndburn and Great Harwood responded to a domestic property fire on Kenilworth Drive, Clitheroe. The fire involved a discarded cigarette inside a bin in the kitchen, and it was extinguished by firefighters using one hose reel and one positive pressure ventilation unit. Fire crews were on scene for one hour.
