At 23:19 hours on Wednesday 15th July 2026, two fire engines from Burnley attended a large fire in the open on Burnley Road, Dunnockshaw. Fire service personnel used two hose reel jets, two main jets, a thermal imaging camera, lighting and a light portable pump to extinguish the fire. Crews remained in attendance for two hours.
