At 23:30 hours on the 11th of September 2025, three fire engines from Preston and Bamber Bridge, plus a multi-use vehicle from the Urban Search and Rescue Team, attended an incident in Higher Walton, Preston. The incident involved a large fire in the open, with a large quantity of waste well alight. Fire crews used a saw, two hose reels, one jet, lighting, and a Bobcat. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately three hours.
