At 12:03pm on 11 July 2026, two fire engines from Chorley and Horwich (from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service) attended a grass fire on The Common, Adlington. Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire and remained on scene for around 40 minutes.
