At 22:11 on the 13th September 2026, four fire engines from Lancaster, Morecambe and Bolton-le-Sands, along with the aerial ladder platform from Morecambe, attendeda a fire involving several large vehicles at Mellishaw Lane, Heaton-with-Oxcliffe. Crews used two foam jets, three main line jets, lighting and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for approximately seven hours.
