At 4:25am on the 29th August 2026, two fire engines from Ormskirk and Southport (from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service) attended a large vehicle fire at The Gravel, Mere Brow, Tarleton. Firefighters extinguished the fire using one hose reel. Crews were on scene for approximately two hours.
