Large vehicle fire on M6 North

At 19:20 on the 7th January 2025, two fire engines from Bamber Bridge and Leyland along with the water bowser from Leyland and two fire engines from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended a large vehicle fire on the M6 North, between Junction 27 and 28. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets and cutting tools to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and a half.
