Lorry fire at commercial premises on Heysham

At 11:46 hours on 27 April 2026, three fire engines from Lancaster, Morecambe and Silverdale Fire Stations, the water bowser from Leyland, and an aerial ladder platform with a supporting fire engine from Morecambe attended a commercial premises on Imperial Road, Heysham.

Firefighters used one 45‑millimetre jet, one hose reel, breathing apparatus, personal protection equipment masks, an aerial ladder platform and a light portable pump to extinguish a fire involving an articulated trailer containing seven tonnes of cardboard. Fire crews were on scene for approximately four hours.
