At 18:08 on 29 April 2025, three fire engines from Penwortham, Leyland and Preston attended a moorland fire measuring approximately twenty metres by twenty metres at Cuerden Valley, Bamber Bridge. Firefighters established a light portable pump and used one main jet to extinguish the fire. Crews remained at scene around two and a half hours.
