At 08:52 hours on 5th January 2026, fire engines from Hornby, Carnforth, Bolton-le-Sands and Kirkby Lonsdale attended an incident on Kirkby Lonsdale Road, Arkholme. The fire involved an outbuilding and fire crews used two breathing apparatus, a dry powder extinguisher, a positive pressure ventilation fan and Milwaukee tools to extinguish the fire. Fire crews were on scene for one hour.
