At 08:38 hours on 1st May 2026, two fire engines from Bacup and Rawtenstall attended an incident on Pennine Road, Bacup. The fire involved an outbuilding which spread to a domestic property. Firefighters used a hose reel, a fan, one breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews were detained at the scene for one hour.
