At 13:24 on 19 April 2026, three fire engines from Tarleton, Skelmersdale and Ormskirk, the water bowser from Leyland and one fire engine from Merseyside Fire and Rescue attended an outbuilding fire at a barn on Drummersdale Lane in Scarisbrick. Fire crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one main line jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for three hours.
