At 13:43 hours on 13th June 2026, two fire engines from Preston and Bamber Bridge attended a fire involving an outhouse on Quaker Brook Lane, Samlesbury. Firefighters used one jet, one hose reel and two breathing apparatus to bring the fire under control. Fire service personnel administered oxygen therapy to two casualties suffering smoke inhalation, who were also assessed by ambulance paramedics. Fire service were in attendance for approximately two and a half hours.
