On 15 September 2026 at 12:14, four fire engines from Lancaster, Morecambe and Bolton-le-Sands attended an incident near Main Street in Heysham. One person was rescued from the coastal path at Heysham Point. Firefighters used a GP line to rescue the casualty. The casualty received precautionary checks from the fire service, but no injuries were sustained. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately one hour.
