At 08:14 on Saturday, January 3, 2026, two fire engines from Leyland and Bamber Bridge fire stations responded to a road traffic collision on Canberra Road, Leyland. Firefighters worked to make the scene safe and extricated one casualty using a longboard. The casualty was handed over to the care on North West Ambulance Service. Crews were engaged for fifty minutes.
