At 18:28 on January 23rd 2026, two fire engines from Leyland and Chorley attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles at the junction of Westgate and Broadfield Drive in Leyland. One casualty, was taken to the hospital by North West Ambulance Service. Crews were on scene for about one hour.
