At 21:39 on the 28th of October 2025, four fire engines from Preston, Fulwood, and Leyland responded to a road traffic collision on the M55 eastbound carriageway. Firefighters used an HGV winch and lighting equipment to extricate one casualty. Crews worked to make the scene safe and remained on the scene for approximately one hour and ten minutes.
