At 16:42 hours on 13th February 2026 two fire engines from Penwortham and Preston attended an incident on the M6 motorway between junctions twenty‑nine and thirty. The incident was a road traffic collision involving one heavy goods vehicle, one van and one car. Firefighters used Holmatro equipment and a hearth kit to make the scene safe. Fire service were on scene for just over one hour.
