Road traffic collision on M6 Southbound
At 22:03 on February 20th, 2026, two fire engines from Bamber Bridge and Leyland attended a road traffic collision on the M6 southbound between Junctions 28 and 27. Firefighters used cutting and spreading equipment to rescue one person trapped in a vehicle. The casualty was treated on-site by the North West Ambulance Service. Crews remained at the scene for around one hour.
