At 11:56 hours on 25th March 2026, six fire engines from Lancaster, Morecambe, Carnforth, Preesall, Hornby and Fulwood, and one command unit and supporting appliance from Blackburn, attended an incident off Princess Alexandra Way, Heysham. The incident was a faulty light fitting in a commercial property causing a smell of smoke. The site was investigated and made safe by fire and rescue personnel and specialist on‑site teams. Fire service were on scene for approximately four and a half hours.
