At 04:16 hours on 29 September 2026, four fire engines from Ormskirk, Skelmersdale and Kirkby fire stations attended a vehicle fire outside a domestic property on Butchers Lane, Aughton. Radiated heat from the fire also affected the property, and the fire was extinguished by firefighters using two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus units. Crews remain in attendance.
