At 13:05 on 22nd April 2026, two fire engines from Leyland and Chorley attended an incident on Heyford Avenue, Buckshaw Village. The fire involved a vehicle which spread to a domestic property. One dog was rescued from the property by fire crews. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for fifty minutes.
