At 09:53 on 27 December 2025, three fire engines from Preston, Bamber Bridge, and Penwortham responded to a vehicle fire on Christ Church Street, Preston. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels to extinguish the fire. Four casualties were assessed by North West Ambulance Service, with two later taken to hospital land ambulance. Crews remained on scene for approximately one hour.
