At 12:50 on 11th April 2026, two fire engines from Leyland and Chorley attended a vehicle fire on the M6. The fire involved a HGV and crews used one hose reel and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for approximately fifteen minutes.
