At 09:44 on 4 August 2025, two fire engines from Preston and Fulwood attended a vehicle fire on the M55 Westbound between junctions one and two. Firefighters extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet and one breathing apparatus, and were in attendance for approximately fifty-five minutes.
