At 13:00 on the 15th of December 2025 two fire engines from Chorley and Bamber Bridge attended an incident on the M6 junction twenty-eight southbound. The incident involved a large vehicle fire. Firefighters used one hose reel and one thermal imaging camera. Crews were detained forty-five minutes.
