At 12:33 on 20 September 2026, two fire engines from Fulwood and Lancaster attended a vehicle fire on the M6 northbound between Junctions 32 and 33. Crews used one hose reel jet and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and bring the incident to a close. Crews were in attendance for approximately thirty minutes.
