At 15:27 on the 24th October 2024, two fire engines from Hyndburn and Burnley attended a vehicle fire on M65 East between Junction 9 and 10. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for one hour and ten minutes.
