At 14:16 on the 21st June 2026, three fire engines from Hyndburn and Blackburn attended a waste fire on Blackburn Road, Accrington. Firefighters used two hose reels, a thermal imaging camera and a triple extension ladder to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for just over one hour.
