At 09:49 on 12 February 2026, four fire engines from Bacup, Burnley and Rawtenstall, as well as the wildfire unit from Bacup, attended a fire involving a large amount of waste on Rochdale Road in Bacup. On scene, firefighters utilised two jets and one hose reel to fight the fire. Crews were in attendance for four hours.
