At 20:42 hours, eight fire engines, two aerial ladder platforms, one high volume pump, a command unit, drone, welfare unit, along with supporting fire engines from Lancashire Fire and Rescue, attended a waste fire on Wallend Road, Preston. Firefighters are still at the scene and are using two jets, six breathing apparatus, and one partner saw to extinguish the fire.
Update at 00:45 - the incident has been reduced to four fire engines and firefighters are working alongside the staff at the site to extinguish the fire.
Update 9:00am 29/07/2024 - Crews continued to dampen down the incident scene and left in the early hours of the morning.
