At 12:56pm on Wednesday 17 June 2026, two fire engines from Lancaster, one from Morecambe and one from Penwortham, alongside specialist appliances, attended a water rescue incident on Halton Road, Lancaster. Firefighters used the boat and specialist water rescue equipment to assist with the rescue before two casualties were handed into the care of North West Ambulance Service. Crews were on scene for one hour and 30 minutes.
