Are you passionate about data? We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team, bringing expertise in technologies like SQL databases (on premise & Azure), NoSQL (such as Azure Cosmos DB), Azure Synapse (& Spark / Parquet files) & Power BI / Fabric, with experience in PySpark and Jupyter notebooks highly beneficial.

The role is pivotal to the organisations future data and intelligence aspirations and will be hugely varied, with significant investment in training and personal development to support key areas.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Design, build, and maintain data infrastructure using SQL (on-prem & Azure), NoSQL (Azure Cosmos DB), Azure Synapse, Spark/Parquet, Power BI, and Fabric.

·         Manage and evolve data warehouses to support BI and analytics systems.

·         Develop and optimise data pipelines for data flows and integration, ensuring data quality, accuracy and efficiency.

·         Build on and add to the current Power BI reports / dashboards.

·         Collaborate with infrastructure, software development, SharePoint, BI, and reporting teams.

·         Educate and mentor colleagues on data engineering and SQL concepts.

Ideal Candidate:

·         Proven data engineering skills.

·         Strong knowledge of Synapse (or Fabric), SQL, ETL processes, Data Lakes, Parquet, PySpark, Jupyter notebooks, and cloud platforms (i.e. Azure).

·         Ability to optimise performance and ensure scalability, security, and data quality.

·         Skilled in cross-system data integration and transformation.

·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
