On the 22nd of September 2024, at 13:19 hours, one fire engine and the Urban Search and Rescue team attended an animal rescue on Chapel Brow in Longridge. Firefighters utilized a safe working at height system and a gas monitor to rescue a cat trapped in a shaft near a reservoir. The cat was safely handed over to the RSPCA.
