At 22:15 on 14th February 2026, two fire engines, one water bowser and one aerial ladder platform along with a support pump from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and two fire engines from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended a derelict building fire on Jacksmere Lane, Scarisbrick. Crews utilised the aerial ladder platform, water bowser, one covering jet, three thermal imaging cameras and lighting to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance approximately fourteen hours.
