At 15:08 on 7 April 2025, two fire engines from Ormskirk attended an incident on Abbey Lane, Burscough. The incident was a fire involving large area of heathland. Firefighters used one hose reel and beaters to extinguish the fire and were on scene for approximately ninety minutes.
