Kitchen fire in Blackburn

At 19:12, two fire engines from Blackburn and Darwen attended a domestic property fire on Besant Close, Blackburn.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished a kitchen fire involving a pan of hot oil on the ground floor of a three-storey property. Crews used positive pressure ventilation fans to clear smoke from the building and isolated the gas, electricity and water supplies as a precaution.

Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras during the incident. The fire caused severe damage to the kitchen, and crews remained on scene removing burnt materials.
