At 14:11 on Tuesday 26th May 2026, several fire appliances, including specialist appliances from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, attended an incident on Church Street, Ribchester. Firefighters worked alongside police and North West Ambulance Service to assist with rescuing a person from water. Fire service crews used a boat and drone to assist with the search. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately six hours.
This was a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family and all affected at this terribly sad time.
