Introduction

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service runs a 24/7 press office function, and you can get in contact with the press office by emailing communications@lancsfirerescue.org.uk or by contacting us on social media accounts.

Out of hours

If you would like information on an incident out of hours, you can email communications@lancsfirerescue.org.uk and the duty press officer will respond to your enquiry at a convenient time.

If your request is time sensitive, please ring the local fire station that attended the incident. The crews may be able to to give you the information you need, alternatively, they may contact the duty press officer and ask for them to respond.

The duty press officer will be made aware of fires when:

  • There are eight fire engines or more at the scene,

  • Operation Merlin has been declared

  • A high volume of calls have been received about an incident

  • A fire at well-known site or location
