Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sets priorities for the year ahead

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has published its Annual Service Plan for 2026-27, setting out priorities for the year ahead as we adapt to changing risks and challenges.

A key priority is developing the next Community Risk Management Plan, a fiveyear roadmap that will guide how we will make Lancashire safer from 2027 onwards. All our services will be reviewed alongside to make sure we are well prepared to deliver the activities and interventions in the new plan.

Investment in the future of the Service remains a priority and savings are necessary to achieve this and meet our financial challenges going forward. We are using data, digital and technology to drive smarter ways of working and help us use resources more efficiently.

Last year, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service achieved the best inspection outcome in the country through His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services. As we evolve, our priority is to protect what makes Lancashire exceptional and maintain our high standards.

Following public consultation earlier in the year, residents, businesses, staff and partners will be invited to help shape the Service’s future direction again during summer.
