Flexible opportunities available at stations across the county
Applications are now open for people interested in becoming on-call firefighters with Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.
The Service is encouraging people to make a difference in their local community by becoming an on-call firefighter. The flexible role offers the opportunity to learn new skills, support local people in emergencies and help keep communities safe.
On-call firefighters provide emergency cover from home or their primary place of work and respond to incidents in their local area when called upon.
Darren Eales, On-call Support Officer, said:
"On-call firefighters are ordinary people who do something extraordinary for their communities.
"Whether it's responding to a house fire, a road traffic collision or another emergency, they are there when people need help most.
"The role offers the chance to learn new skills, receive the same training as wholetime firefighters and make a real difference to local communities. We welcome anyone who can commit their time, and the support of local employers is essential in helping us respond across Lancashire."
Applicants must live or work close enough to an on-call fire station to respond quickly to emergencies. Response times vary between stations, so anyone interested is encouraged to check the requirements for their local station.
People interested in learning more about the role can contact their local on-call support officer using the details provided in the recruitment advert.
